Who are the GuriNgai People?

We, are the GuriNgai People, the First Nations Traditional Custodians of the Central Coast and Northern Sydney regions of NSW.

We are also known as Garigal, Walkaloa, Wannangine,

Cammeraigal, Kuring-gai and The Broken Bay Tribe.

Our GuriNgai totem is the Darinyung (stingray).

The traditional language of the GuriNgai People is ‘Karee’.

The word ‘Karee’ means ‘Saltwater’.

Dharug to the South West.
